Feature: Cater James (Photographer/Mogul)

1 . what inspires you?

I am inspired by everything from colors to weather to fabric to smiles. I am a sucker for emotions and I feed off of them, so if ou see my work, you get my mood from there. Inspiratiion is all around us and we just have to pay attention to it. I do have some individuals who inspire me such as Solange, Janelle Monae, Tom Ford, Andre 3000, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Tracee Ellis Ross, Michael jackson, Marvin Gaye, Andre Leon Talley, Kelly Calton and Rachel Zoe.
2 . who have you worked with?

I have worked with alot of underground people as far as models, productions, publications, blogs and individuals. I am not really a spotlight type of person so I enjoy working with smaller companies on the rise. I have worked with Controversy Boutique, Project X: Fashion Troop Production, iCON, Tayo of Ford Models, Mika Means, Lords and Lady (pop group), IFG (publication), Art Nouveau Magazine, Lateboots.com, some independent artist around Atlanta and HOP Models.
3 . what are some future projects your working on?

I am working on my brand right now. Heybandgeeks is my baby and I am feeding it everyday. Heybandgeeks is fashion/entertainment PR Boutique and Blogger Publicatiion. We focus on fashion, music and a lifestyle from the artistic aspect. I am the founder/editor of the site and I am building up our brand in Atlanta. We are currently in production for the Septmeber fashion issue of the site. Exciting things coming soon.

5 . what gives you your passion to do what you do??
Art gives me my passion to do what I do. I am an artist at heart and I love creating things. I am a photographer, which is my passion, If I could not take picture of the timeless moments, I would die. My photographer drove me to start heybandgeeks, I wanted a location where artist could express themselves without rule and guidelines. Just give me ART.
6 . what advice would you give to someone trying to do something in your field?
The only advice I give is the DREAM BIG and HUSTLE HARD. Life isn't promised so take nothing for granted. In order for you to be successful you have to do something and work for it. I believe that dreams are your future and your reality is the foundation, so run to your dream. The way you run to your dreams is by working and doing everything you can to get to those dreams.

7 . how did you get to where you are now?

I believe I got where i am today but the connections ihave made with certain people throughout the years. I have met, worked with, cried with, traveled with, created and followed some truly creative people. Along with going through life's lessons and coming out stronger. Those lessons have taught me what I want out of life and to work hard to get it. I am a hustler by nature and I always try to push myself harder and harder every chance I get.
